摘要
以象示意是《周易》的鲜明特色。领会《周易》的内涵必须通过易象,脱离易象则无以解《易》。翻译《周易》时,译者应聚焦于易象,积极运用象思维,创造性地传译易象。易象翻译宜采取“象译”策略,择用移象、存象、释象等手段,换象、添象、删象等手段则不宜使用。这样,译文才能将原文蕴含的中国传统思维样式、认识形态和哲学智慧充分地传达出来。
The Zhou yi,a book of images,has a distinct style to express ideas and thoughts through images.Connotations of the Zhou yi can be mastered through images,without regard of which understanding of the book is impossible.When turning it into a foreign language,the translator should explore the complexity of the Changes and search out what is hidden,focus on the images,give full play to image thinking and convey them creatively.It is advisable to adopt the strategy of image translation and the methods of transferring,retaining and explaining images instead of substituting,adding or deleting images.Only in this way can the thinking pattern,cognitive mode,and philosophical wisdom of the traditional Chinese culture be adequately revealed.
