《校注项氏历代名瓷图谱》考略

Textual Criticism of the Noted Porcelains of Successive Dynasties with Comments and Illustrations by Hsiang Yuan-Pien

《校注项氏历代名瓷图谱》是由民国时期两位文物研究大家郭葆昌和福开森通力合作,投入巨资,耗时数年编撰出版的第一部向西方系统介绍中国瓷器的中英文双注陶瓷文献。该书自1931年问世以来就备受国内外陶瓷学界推崇,有“民国第一善本”之美誉。然而,是何原因成就该书“民国第一善本”之美名,学界尚未有专文论证过。本文拟从该书的出版动机、出版过程、传世影响等方面进行考述,借以彰显此书“民国第一善本”美誉乃实至名归。

The Noted Porcelains of Successive Dynasties with Comments and Illustrations by Hsiang Yuan-Pien offers a systematic introduction to Chinese porcelains for westerners and is the first Chinese-and-English-note porcelain document compiled by Guo Baochang and Fu Kaisen,two great antique researchers during the Republic of China,who collaborated and made a considerable investment of time and money in publishing the book.Since its publication,the book has been highly praised in porcelain society at home and aboard,earning the reputation‒“the first rare book in the Republic of China”.However,no researches have been attempted to reveal the reasons behind.The aim of this article was to prove that it deserves the reputation by analyzing the motivation of its publication,the publication process and its influence.
