产出导向法促成教学环节指导下的名词化教学

Instruction of Nominalization by Applying Enabling of POA

中国英语学习者的学术英语写作文本缺乏学术英语的语体特征,名词化产出能力不足是主要原因。因此,改进名词化教学是急需解决的问题。笔者在产出导向法(POA)的指导下,在90名非英语专业学生的学术英语写作预备课程中开展了一个学期的教学研究。本研究汇报了在POA促成教学环节指导下进行教学的详细过程。研究收集了学生的学习日志、访谈和产出文本,采集了4名同行教师课堂观察与访谈数据。数据之间的三角验证表明精确地应用促成教学的三个标准开展教学,能有效提高学生在学术写作中产出名词化的数量和质量。

It is noticeable that the academic papers written by Chinese English learners are lacking in academic features largely due to their poor ability to use nominalization.Therefore,the instruction of nominalization in an academic English writing course is badly needed.The author conducted onesemester-long instruction of nominalization to 90 non-English majors under the guidance of the production-oriented approach(POA).This research demonstrated how to apply POA,specifically,the enabling procedure to the teaching of nominalization.By triangulating the data of students’interviews,learning journals and written output,and the data of 4 teachers’class observations and interviews,this study found that the accurate application of the three criteria of effective enabling contributed to the improvement of the quantity and quality of nominalization in academic writing.
