Objective To study the effect and safety of three-dimensional conformal intensity-modulated radiotherapy in elderly patients with esophageal cancer. Methods A total of 92 elderly patients with esophageal cancer who were treated in the hospital from January2015 to December 2018 were randomly selected. They were selected as the research object and randomly divided into control group and observation group. 46 cases each. The elderly patients in the control group were treated with conventional radiotherapy, and the elderly patients in the observation group were treated with three-dimensional conformal intensity-modulated radiotherapy. The cura-tive effects of the two groups of elderly patients received different treatment methods were compared. Compare adverse reactions. Re-sults The total effective rate of elderly patients in the observation group after receiving treatment was 95.7%, which was higher than80.4% in the control group;the adverse reaction rate of elderly patients in the observation group after receiving treatment was 8.7%,which was lower than 32.6% in the control group(χ~2=8.026, P<0.05). Conclusion The effect of three-dimensional conformal intensitymodulated radiotherapy on elderly patients with esophageal cancer is significant, with few adverse reactions, and high safety, which is worthy of promotion.
