On the Development of Financial Institutions in Modern Xinjiang

近代新疆的金融机构从传统的典当到近代的银行,之间还经历了票号与官钱局等,这些金融机构在不同的时期对新疆的经济发展起到了不同的作用,特别在是促进新疆金融业的发展和货币市场的稳定方面有着突出贡献。同时,新疆这些金融机构的发展过程,一方面与内地联系十分密切,但是另一方面又因为新疆独特的历史地理条件而极具自身特点。

In modern times,financial institutions in Xinjiang developed from traditional pawnshops to modern banks.Exchange banks and official money offices have also been founded in between.These financial institutions have played different roles in Xinjiang’s economic development at different times,especially in making outstanding contributions to the development of financial industry and the stability of the money market in Xinjiang.On one hand,the developing process of these financial institutions is closely connected with the China's Mainland.On the other hand,it has its own characteristics owing to Xinjiang’s unique historical and geographical conditions.
