Objective:To observe the effect of acupuncture combined with Chinese medicine fumigation on facial nerve function in patients with wind-cold acute peripheral facial paralysis, and analyze the clinical efficacy. Methods:A total of 100 patients with cold-induced peripheral facial paralysis who met the selection criteria in our hospital’s internal medicine department were divided into acupuncture group and combined group according to the random number table method. Each of the acupuncture group was treated with acupuncture and the combined group was treated with acupuncture Combined with traditional Chinese medicine fumigation treatment. Both groups were treated for 4 weeks.Compare facial nerve function and TCM syndrome scores of two groups of patients before and after treatment to evaluate clinical efficacy. Results:The total effective rate of the combined group (96.00%) was higher than that of the acupuncture group (82.00%) (P <0.05);the HB grading scores of the combined group were lower than that of the acupuncture group at 1 and 3 weeks after treatment (P <0.05);The scores of TCM syndromes in the combined group were lower than those in the acupuncture group after treatment (P <0.05).Conclusion:Acupuncture combined with traditional Chinese medicine fumigation treatment in patients with acute cold-type peripheral facial paralysis is effective and beneficial to improve facial nerve function.
