英语量词浮游现象的界面研究

本文借助界面的视角重新分析了英语量词浮游现象中尚未解决的问题并提出了解释:内论元合并位置实际在动词之上,因此在没有V-v提升的被动和非宾格结构里被搁浅在原位的量词无法出现在动词之下;DP如不能在移位落点获格,就必须在PF层面通过格传递获得FQ的格;英语代词在语音层面只有主格宾格两种形态,因此如果通过of获得宾格,就只能移位在语音层获格。这一分析说明精确描述界面规则可以帮助我们解决一些问题,是句法研究中需要注意的方面。

This paper probes into some lingering problems in English quantifier floating from an interface perspective and provides solutions respectively: 1) the internal argument is merged above VP, so in passives and unergatives where there’s no V-v movement, the quantifier cannot be stranded lower than the verb;2) a DP which cannot get case from the target of movement must remain in FQ;3) English pronouns only have nominative and accusative form in PF, so they need to move across the PP above DP when there is no overt of for accusative case. This study shows that a detailed interface description is important to syntactic studies.
