The Sorrow of War is a novel that narrates the story of the Vietnam war,which differentiates it from the fashions that tell the story from the national fighting and the eulogy of heroism like other war-described novels.The novel regarding the inevitable tragedies and crises of the war from a veteran’s perspective.The novel has different impacts on the two parties between America and Vietnam.In the meantime,it provides a new perspective in terms of knowing each other and their own.The author Pham Xuan Nguyen presents the approval and acceptance of the novel and reveals the importance of studying various areas between America and Vietnam by showing the Sorrow of War under the American perspective.Moreover,by showing that it attracts attention from domestic view in Vietnam and demonstrates the importance and necessity for students studying the Sorrow of War.
