A case of over standard dielectric loss and capacitance of capacitor voltage transformer in 110 kV substation was introduced.Through the CVT self-excitation method test,the dielectric loss and capacitance of the main capacitor and the voltage dividing capacitor of the capacitor voltage divider were tested respectively.The cause of the fault was found by physical examination and insulating oil analysis of B-phase CVT with abnormal data.The measures and suggestions for finding and diagnosing CVT fault in time were put forward.
