国际高水平科技期刊非学术栏目的特征分析

Analysis on characteristics of non-academic columns in international high-level scientific journals

【目的】揭示国际高水平科技期刊非学术栏目的设置、构成及其发展趋势,为我国科技期刊设置相关栏目提供参考。【方法】选择Wo S数据库中影响因子排名前30的科技期刊作为国际高水平科技期刊,按其各自网站发布的2017年和2018年第1期内容总结其非学术栏目的设置、种类、文章数及其与学术论文数之比。【结果】高水平科技期刊均设有非学术栏目,其中综述类期刊的非学术栏目数较少,而研究类期刊的较多。在30种高水平期刊中,Editorial/Perspectives、Research Highlight和News and Views栏目设置较多。高水平期刊都倾向于增加非学术栏目,或增加非学术栏目文章。Nature系列子刊和医学类期刊设置的非学术栏目较多,其中的非学术文章数与学术论文数的比值较高。【结论】非学术栏目是国际高水平科技期刊的重要组成,是宣传其学术论文、提高其受关注度的重要途径,值得我国科技期刊学习、借鉴,其中Editorial、Perspectives、Research Highlight三类栏目更值得尝试。

[Purposes] This paper aims to reveal the setting,component,and development trend of non-academic columns in international high-level scientific journals,and provide references for setting up relevant columns in Chinese scientific journals.[Methods]The top 30 scientific journals in the WoS database were selected as international high-level scientific journals,and their non-academic column settings,types,number of essays,and ratio of the number of non-academic essays to the number of academic articles were investigated according to the website contents of the first issues in 2017 and 2018 of 30 international high-level scientific journals. [Findings]The non-academic columns of high-level scientific journals for publishing articles on research results are much more than those for publishing reviews. No matter what it is a review or a research high-level scientific journal,it tends to set more non-academic columns,or directly,non-academic essays. Among them,columns of Editorial/Perspectives,Research Highlight,and News and Views are the most popular ones. Either the Nature series journals or the medical journals are composed with many non-academic columns with many essays. The high ratios of the number of non-academic essays to the number of academic articles,normally not less than 1,in both Nature series journals and medical journals,can be one of the important reasons for their success.[Conclusions]The non-academic columns set by high impact scientific journals maybe one of the important platforms to promote and arouse high attention to their published academic articles,among which the columns of Editorial,Perspectives,and Research Highlight deserve most of Chinese scientific journals’ learning and application.
