五四运动既是一场轰轰烈烈的思想解放运动,又是一场马克思主义科学理论与中国工人运动初步结合促进中国共产党产生与发展的革命运动,更是一场近代中国志士学人扬弃中华传统文化和西方文化进而生成中国化的马克思主义理论的文化自觉自信运动。这一自觉自信运动成功塑造并锻炼了新民主主义革命文化自觉自信的主体,他们的新价值观构成了近代中国重拾文化自信的核心要件,五四运动由此构成了近代中国文化自觉与自信的起点,开启了中国重拾文化自信的新篇章。

May Fourth Movement is a great ideological liberation movement,a great revolutionary movement where scientific theory of Marxism combines with Chinese labor movement and accelerates the born and development of Communist Party of China,and a great cultural awareness and confidence movement where honest patriots and Chinese scholars discards Chinese traditional culture and western culture and further develops Marxist theory in Chinese Context.This cultural awareness and confidence movement has succeeded in shaping and training the subjects of New Democratic Revolution cultural awareness and confidence.Their new value becomes the core for modern Chinese people to regain cultural confidence.Therefore May Fourth Movement symbolizes the starting point of cultural awareness and confidence in modern China,marking a new chapter for China to regain cultural confidence.
