从事民间文化研究工作的学者,深知田野实践的重要性,也很注重田野现场的记录工作。刘锡诚先生自上世纪60年代开始有关中国民间文化的研究工作,如今积累的研究成果已被业界所公认,而期间的田野足迹遍布全国各地。《田野手记》就是在此期间由各地的随笔记录构成的文集。该书时间跨度达半个世纪,主要侧重于对各地文化事项,民土风情等评论。同时此书在人情体验之外,也体现出其独特的历史研究思维和反思意识,对民俗学,艺术人类学研究有着极高的学术参考价值。
