双垂鹤鸵人工育雏技术的初探

Artificial Hand-Rearing Technology for Southern Cassowary(Casuarius casuarius)

2019年,南京市红山森林动物园人工育雏双垂鹤鸵7只,对双垂鹤鸵的人工育雏前期准备、标记方法、育雏期的饲养环境、卫生消毒情况进行了描述,分析雏鸟日粮的食物种类及营养成分,监测3月龄内雏鸟的体重增长情况,讨论雏鸟日均增重和日均食量的相关关系及7日龄内雏鸟的减重情况,雏鸟体重和营养摄入显著相关(P<0.01)。总结了人工育雏期间的疾病问题,并提出防治措施。

In 2019,7 cassowaries(Casuarius casuarius)were hand-reared at Nanjing Hongshan Forest Zoo.We describe here the preparation,marking method,feeding environment,and sanitary disinfection used for hand-rearing.We analyzed the food types and nutrition components of the chick diet and monitored chick weight increase over 3 months.We analyzed the correlation between the average daily weight gain and the average daily food intake of chicks,and the weight loss of chicks at 7 days of age.The results showed that chick body weight was significantly correlated with nutrient intake(P<0.01).We summarize here the disease problems that arose during hand-rearing and recommend prevention and treatment measures.
