Experience of TCM master ZHANG Zhi-yuan in differentiating and treating dysentery

张志远教授临床治疗痢疾经验丰富,遣方用药灵活,在化裁古方的基础上,亦善用新方。张老认为痢疾的产生主要为外感寒热湿邪、疫毒或内伤饮食不节所致,并根据致病原因将痢疾主要分为疫毒痢、湿热痢、虚寒痢和休息痢。临证擅长清热解毒治疗疫毒痢,清热祛湿治疗湿热痢,温补脾肾治疗虚寒痢,扶正祛邪治疗休息痢。文章主要介绍了张老辨治痢疾的临证经验,突出了其治病求本的学术思想。

Professor ZHANG Zhi-yuan has rich clinical experience in the treatment of dysentery.He is very flexible in using drugs and expert in using new prescriptions on the basis of cutting down ancient prescriptions Professor ZHANG believes that dysentery is mainly caused by exogenous cold,heat and dampness,epidemic virus or inappropriate diet.According to the pathogenic factors,dysentery is mainly divided into fulminant dysentery,damp-heat dysentery,deficiency cold dysentery and intermittent dysentery.Professor ZHANG is skilled in clearing heat and removing toxicity for fulminant dysentery,clearing heat and promoting diuresis for damp-heat dysentery,warming and tonifying spleen and kidney for deficiency cold dysentery,and strengthening vital qi to eliminate pathogenic factor for intermittent dysentery.This paper mainly introduces professor ZHANG’s clinical experience in the treatment of dysentery based on syndrome differentiation,and highlights his thought of searching for the primary cause of disease in treatment for traditional Chinese doctors.
