在困境中挣扎的中医典籍翻译——以《肘后备急方》为例

The Predicament of Traditional Chinese Medicine Books Translation--A Case Study of Zhou Hou Bei Ji Fang

传统中医药学不仅仅是中华民族智慧的结晶,也是中华民族带给全世界的礼物。屠呦呦获得诺贝尔奖也正是受到了东晋葛洪所著的《肘后备急方》的启发,这也进一步说明了传统中医药学是可以为现代医学的发展带来巨大贡献的。《肘后备急方》一书主要记述各种急性病症或某些慢性病急性发作的治疗方药,被誉为中国免疫思想的萌芽。但是,即便是有如此巨大贡献的一本著作,在外译过程中,还是困难重重,几乎没有完整的外文版本,外译过程一直在困境中挣扎,为中国文化的传播带来了挑战。“先天不足,后天畸形”是当代大多数中医药典籍翻译的现状,只有在传播过程中与现代医学结合并且最大限度地提高“通才”的培养力度,才可以把这份给全体人类的礼物奉献给整个世界。

Traditional Chinese medicine is not only the crystallization of the wisdom of the Chinese nation,but also the gift of the Chinese nation to the world.Tu Youyou’s Nobel Prize was also inspired by the Ji Fang written by Ge Hong in the Eastern Jin Dynasty,which further proved that traditional Chinese medicine can bring great contribution to the development of modern medicine.“Ji Fang”mainly describes the treatment of acute diseases or acute attack of some chronic diseases,known as the germination of Chinese immune thought.However,even a book with such a great contribution is still very difficult in the process of translation.There is almost no complete foreign version of it.The process of translation has been struggling in the dilemma,which brings challenges to the spread of Chinese culture.The present situation of translation of most contemporary Chinese Medicine Classics lies in the congenital deficiency and acquired deformity.Only by combining with modern medicine in the process of communication and improving the cultivation of“generalists”to the greatest extent,can we dedicate this gift to all mankind to the whole world.
