Objective:The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of short-term KAATSU training on cardiovascular function and body composition in male adults.Methods:Twenty-two male adults without any professional sports experience were included in study, the KAATSU training method was determined based on a one-time experiment;and before and after two-week KAATSU training, their body composition and cardiovascular function changes were measured. Results:The 250 mmHg was the best pressure setting value for KAATSU training. After two-week 250 mmHg KAATSU training, the lower limbs muscle mass, left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF)and cardiac output(CO)of the experimental group were higher than before(P<0.05);there were no significant changes of lower limb circumference, body composition, blood glucose, blood lipid and other cardiac function indexes in both control group and experimental group(P>0.05).Conclusion:Short-term KAATSU training could significantly increase muscle mass and change body composition to some extent, and also promote LVEF and CO of male adults at rest.
