On the Underclass Body Narrative in Mu Shiying’s Novels

20世纪30年代,新感觉派代表作家穆时英在小说中塑造的一系列底层生存者在现代文学史引起关注。由于教育的限制,他们只能用自己的身体来表达情绪,其身体也在无助的挣扎中被烙下了社会与命运的印迹。从抗争的身体、被惩罚和摧残的身体、底层女性的身体等存在方式进行解读,能够发掘穆时英小说新的叙事价值。

In the 1930s,a series of underclass survivors created by Mu Shiying,a representative writer of the New Sensation School,attracted much attention in modern literary history.Due to the restriction of education,those survivors can only express their emotions through their bodies,while their bodies are branded with the imprints of society and fate in helpless struggle.From the perspective of different ways human bodies exist,such as struggling bodies,punished and destroyed bodies and the bodies of underclass females,new narration value of Mu Shiying's novels can be explored.
