关于《素问·六节藏象论篇》中“肝者,罢极之本”这句话的含义,古今中外医学大家有多种解释,但至今没有明确的结论,故采用语言学的方法对“罢极”的语音、语义、语境进行分析,对其语用情况进行调查,结合《素问》中对肝的多角度描写,重新考证“肝者,罢极之本”的内涵。分析认为“罢极”一词中,“罢”读作bà,为放遣、遣散之义,表示一种管控方式;“极”为极点义,表示运动达到极点的状态。“罢”“极”组合成词是指对人体生命某种运动极点状态的调控。因此“肝者,罢极之本”的意思是说肝为人体生命周转运动的调控枢纽。

There are many explanations about the meaning of the sentence"liver is the root of BaJi"in Su Wen·Liu Jie Zang Xiang Lun,but there is no clear conclusion.Therefore,this paper uses linguistic methods to analyze the phonetic,semantic and context of BaJi.This paper investigates its pragmatic situation,and re examines the connotation of"the root of Ba Ji"in combination with the multi angle description of liver in Suwen.The analysis shows that Ba in the word BaJi is read as bà,which means a kind of control mode for the meaning of release and dismission;Ji is the meaning of pole,which means the state of movement reaching the pole.The combination of Ba and Ji refers to the regulation and control of a certain movement pole state of human life.Therefore,the meaning of"liver is the root of BaJi"means that the liver is the regulating hub of the turnover of human life.
