A Poetic Life Immersed in Theoretical Thinking:An Interview with Professor Chen Yongguo

自20世纪80年代以来,中国学者对西方文论的研究热情一直居高不下。作为国内译介和研究西方文论的先驱者之一,陈永国教授丰富的著述和理论译作为中国学者的文学研究道路拓宽了视野,其对理论研究的坚持、对文学批评的深思和对诗歌创作的热忱同样格外引人注目,发人深省。为深化学界对西方文论研究以及其与文学批评和创作的关系的理解,促进对当下文学研究存在的问题的思考,这次访谈主要围绕三个方面展开:首先,陈教授回顾了自己早期的学术经历,分享了自己对文学理论学习和研究的心得,并谈论了对文论的跨学科性质和中国学者“失语”问题的看法。然后,陈教授对其基于当下的文学研究现状而提出的文学生态阅读、文艺的社会科学等概念做了说明,就诗歌鉴赏发表了自己的见解。最后,结合自身诗歌创作的感悟,陈教授探讨了理论研究与文学创作割裂的常态现象,并勉励青年研究者以兴趣为引领,坚持前行。

Since the 1980s,Western literary theory has attracted a lot of attention in Chinese academia.As one of the pioneers of translating and studying Western literary theories,Professor Chen Yongguo has helped Chinese scholars gain a deeper understanding of Western literary theory by his research articles and translation of numerous theoretical works.His outstanding achievement is impossible without his persistence in theoretical research,passion for poetry writing and insights into literary criticism.This interview aims to unveil the approach to literary theories,to clarify the relation between literary theory,criticism and creation,and to facilitate reflections on current literary studies.In the interview,Prof.Chen first shared his gains about literary theory studies while reviewing his early academic experience and talked about the interdisciplinary nature of literary studies and Chinese scholars’“aphasia”.Professor.Chen then elucidated the concept of ecological reading of literature,investigated the future of literary and art criticism from the perspective of social science,and talked about his thoughts about poetry appreciation.Finally,Professor.Chen commented on the disparity between literary criticism and creation based on his own poetry writing,and encouraged young scholars to cultivate their own interest and pursue literary studies with perseverance.
