This paper reports a case of assisted pregnancy in a 70-year-old male and discusses both the fertility status of elderly men,and the existing problems or potential ethical problems of assisted pregnancy in elderly groups.It is a reminder to reproductive center staffs to respect the reproductive rights of elderly male patients and their spouses while fully informing the risks of childbirth to themselves,their spouses and their offspring.Prior to pregnancy assistance,doctor-patient communication should be strengthened,the principle of beneficial to the patient,the principle of informed consent and the principle of beneficial to future generations should be followed,and the supervision of the ethics committee should be accepted to strictly prevent the abuse of technology and timely persuade elderly male patients to give up the treatment of assisted pregnancy.
