Development and Communication of Overseas Information Public Platforms in the COVID-19 Pandemic

近年来,新媒体和社交媒体不断发展、壮大,在当今人们信息交流中起到了极为重要的作用,一些重大事件的报导、发酵、解读和传播都有它的身影。海外资讯类公众平台是海外华人融入当地社会的必备工具和获取信息的主要来源。疫情下的海外新媒体对于民众的生活及情绪有巨大影响,因此更应该提高媒体素养,自觉成为优秀的跨文化传播者。

Social media and new media have seen continuous growth and expansion recently and played an important part in current public information communication. Reporting, fermentation, interpretation and communication about some major incidents can be traced on these new media outlets. Overseas information public platforms have been the ways for overseas Chinese to be integrated into the local communities and the main resource for them to obtain news information. In the COVID-19 pandemic, overseas new media outlets have greatly influenced on the public life and feelings, so shall recognize the importance of media ethics more than ever and practice effective cross-culture communication.
