In recent years, General Secretary Xi Jinping has talked about a community of shared future for mankind many times in order to unite the peoples of the world and jointly promote the development of human future. Taiwan is an inseparable part of China’s sacred territory. The early reunification of the two sides of the Taiwan Straits is the ardent expectation of compatriots on both sides. It is also an important part of our thoughts on reunification in the new period. Therefore, a community of shared future for both sides of the Taiwan Straits is a topic we need to focus on. In order to be able to clarify the idea of a community of shared future for both sides of the Taiwan Straits in the new period, we shall attach importance to understanding the origin of the Taiwan Question, the formation of the idea of a community of shared future for both sides of the Taiwan Straits and the path to practicing this idea, which is conducive to our comprehension of its profound ideological connotation and significance.
