先秦时期是中国平民教育产生和发展的重要时期。在旧石器时代,平民教育内容注重单一的生活技能教育,平民教育场所也以社会教育为主,并有着强烈的实用性目的。经过新石器时代和夏商两代的发展,至春秋战国时期,平民教育内容注重理论化知识教育与道德教化,平民教育场所已经包含学校教育,平民教育目的的功利性也逐渐显现。

The pre-Qin period was an important period for the emergence and development of Chinese civilian education.In the Paleolithic era,the content of civilian education was mainly focused on single life skills education,and social education was given priority to in civilian education contexts,with a strong practical purpose.Through the development of the Neolithic Age and the Xia and Shang Dynasties,to the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period,the content of civilian education began to focus on theoretical knowledge and moral education.School education started to occur in civilian education contexts,with the utilitarianism of the purpose of civilian education gradually appeared.
