The Basic Connotation of“Straight”And“Hidden”in Confucianism and Its Contemporary Value

儒家思想中"直"与"隐"的相关问题一直具有争议,学界不乏从文本进行理解的,也不乏从语境进行阐释的。事实上,对于"直"和"隐"的基本内涵应该要从文本和语境两方面结合来理解。既不可简单地认为儒家思想因为父子互隐而强调血缘至上;也不可简单地从字义解释上来为"直在其中"作辩护。儒家思想强调的是"直"中有"隐","隐"中含"直"的道德伦理观,这种道德伦理观对于提高自身道德修养,构建和谐的家庭、社会伦理关系具有重要意义。

The related issues of"straight"and"hidden"in Confucianism are always controversial.The basic connotation of"straight"and"hidden"should be understood from both text and context.We should not simply think that Confucianism emphasizes the supremacy of consanguinity because father and son hide from each other;nor can we simply explain from the meaning of the word to justify it.Confucianism emphasizes the moral ethics that"straight"includes"hidden","hidden"includes"straight".To consider this moral ethics dialectically is of great significance to improve our own moral culture,in order to build a harmonious family and social ethics.
