Exploring the Ways to Promote the Improvement of Citizens’Moral Quality in the New Era with Value Reason

改革开放40多年以来,中国社会各方面发生了翻天覆地的变化,社会公众道德倍受关注,一场人民的抗"疫"阻击战映射了中国人民众志成城,万众一心,攻坚克难的中国精神。同时,我们也不能忽视各种各样的极端道德失范现象层出不穷,例如食品安全问题,医患关系问题,这些问题出现的根源就在于人过度强调以主体利益为中心的工具理性,唯工具理性导致个人主体的异化和个人主义的扩张。在社会主义市场经济大背景下,公民道德发展既需要工具理性思维方式指导之下科学技术创造的物质基础,也需要价值理性作为价值引领,即通过创造良好的社会主义核心价值观引导下的市场经济环境,增强公民主体价值理性的内在需要以及推动优秀传统道德的转型回归,促进新时代公民道德素质提升。

Over the past 40 years of reform and opening up,tr’emendous changes have taken place in all aspects of Chinese society,with public morals receiving great attention.A nationwide anti-epidemic warfare reflects the Chinese people’s ambition to overcome difficulties.But at the same time,the emergence of various extreme moral anomie shall not be ignored,such as food safety issues and doctor-patient relationship issues.The root of these problems lies in the excessive emphasis on instrumental rationality centered on the interests of the subject.It leads to the alienation of individual subjects and the expansion of individualism.In the context of the socialist market economy,the development of citizen morality requires both the material foundation of scientific and technological creation under the guidance of instrumental rational thinking,and the value rationality as a value guide,that is,by creating a good economic environment guided by socialist core values,to enhance the inherent needs of citizens’subject value rationality,to promote the transformation and return of excellent traditional morals,and to improve the citizens’moral quality in the new era.
