Reconstruction of Culture-Loaded Words in English Translation of Red Poppies

文化负载词承载了一个民族鲜明的文化个性和民族特征,在民族文化传播过程中起着举足轻重的作用。基于彼得·纽马克的翻译理论,以葛浩文夫妇翻译的《尘埃落定》英译本为语料,通过对其物质、生态、社会、宗教和语言文化负载词的翻译策略进行分析,探究译者如何实现文化负载词的跨文化重构,以期为少数民族文学译者提供参考和借鉴,从而促进中华文化的传播。

Culture-Loaded words represent a nation's distinct cultural personality and national characteristics,and play an important role in the process of national culture dissemination.Based on Peter Newmark's translation theory,taking the translation of some Culture-Loaded words in Chinese ethnic literature text of Chen Ai Luo Ding and its English translation by the Howard Goldblatts Red Poppies:A Novel of Tibet for example,the translation strategies of its material,ecological,social,religious and linguistic cultural load words were studied to figure out how the translators realized the reconstruction of Culture-Loaded words,all these can supply reference for translators of minority literature so as to spread Chinese culture widely.
