清代以珠江三角洲为中心的广府地区的经济得到飞速发展的同时,地方文人画家的地域文化自觉意识随之兴起,在书画创作中开始关注广府本土特有物产,书写粤中真山真水,描绘广州人情风物,以此彰显地域文化,以图建立具有自身特色书画艺术,并逐渐形成了具有岭南特质的绘画风格,为近代广府地域文化的形成和本土艺术流派的产生奠定了基础,也印证了清代以来广府本土文化的崛起历程。
