Member Identity and Environment Protection:An Investigation Based on Identity Economics

日益严峻的生态环境问题成为社会各界关注的重要议题,环境保护与每个人息息相关。从"党员身份"这一切入点,基于身份经济学的分析框架,利用中国综合社会调查(CGSS)2013年的数据,讨论了个体的党员身份对环境保护行为的促进效应。研究发现,党员身份对私人领域的亲环境习惯和公众领域的环保行为均有显著的正向影响,这种影响在工具变量回归中仍保持稳健。身份的归属感、认同感及有效监督促进了环境保护行为,异质性检验验证了这种作用。在我国大力治理环境问题的背景下,本文从微观层面提供了党员"身份认同"能够促进环保行为的证据,强调了人的主观能动性对环境的积极影响,不仅拓宽了研究视角,更对落实环境保护有实践意义。

Increasingly serious ecological environment problems become an important issues of the society.Environmental protection is closely related to everyone.This article starting from the perspective of individual behavior,based on the framework of identity economics,using Chinese general social survey(CGSS)data in 2013,discuss the party membership on the promoting effect of environment protection behavior.Study founds that party membership has a significant positive impact on the pro-environment habits in the private sector and the environmental protection behaviors in the public sector,which remains stable in the regression of instrumental variables.The sense of belonging,identity and effective supervision promote the promotion of environmental behavior,which is verified by the heterogeneity test.Under the background of pushing environmental problem in our country,this article from the micro level of individual provides cognitive evidence of"identity"to promote environmental protection act,and emphasize the person’s subjective initiative has positive impact to the environment,which expand the environmental economics theory and research method.
