The Break between Art and Emotion:An Interpretation of the Artistic View of the Republic from the Perspective of Functionalism

在柏拉图缔造的充满正义的《理想国》中,他认为艺术只具有“负价值情感”作用,对其采取否定与排斥的态度,号召将诗人、诗歌驱逐出“理想国”,由哲人担王。但艺术的存在有其自身的独特功能与价值,随着社会、文化价值的多元化,艺术的功能价值也具有多元化特征,其情感价值更是应有之义,不能简单将二者割裂。技艺则是实现艺术多元化价值统一的重要途径。

In Plato's Republic,which is full of justice,he believed that the art only had the function of"negative value emotion",and took a negative and repulsive attitude towards it.He called for poets and poems to be expelled from the Republic and philosophers to assume the king.However,the existence of art has its own unique functions and values.With the diversification of social and cultural values,the functional value of art also has diversified characteristics,and its emotional value is more due,so the two cannot be simply separated.Art is an important way to realize the unity of diversified artistic values.
