On Examining Ancient Xi Country

位于河南南部的息县地处南北要冲,是淮上地区最重要、最古老的县邑之一,其建城历史悠久,文化厚重。深入梳理挖掘其城池文化和城池变迁不仅对发掘古息文化具有重要的历史和现实意义,对城市史、区域史研究亦具有重要的学术价值。

As one of the most important and oldest country cities in the Huaishang region,Xi county city is located in the south of Henan province with a long history of city building and profound culture.This paper makes a study of the culture and changes of the city,which is not only of great historical and practical significance to excavating ancient culture,but also of great academic value to studies on urban history and regional history.
