Gustav Klimt spent almost every summer in Lake Attersee from 1900 to 1916 and created a large number of landscape paintings, which accounted for about a quarter of all his works.Klimt’s landscape paintings can be regarded as a continuation of the figure painting techniques he explored, but in these landscape paintings,he deviated from traditional techniques more boldly and experimented with new painting languages more freely. These works are basically square composition, with a unique viewing point, which are always full of order and vitality, both decorative and expressive. With landscape painting,Klimt reconstructed nature on the canvas.
