This article introduced one medical case of Professor Yan Shiyun’s clinical experience in treating lingering dysentery(ulcerative colitis).The medication of Professor Yan attached importance to combination of tonifying and reducing in clinic,applying warming and clearing method,and promoting regulating qi and blood.This medical case reflected Professor Yan's treatment of lingering and persistent diseases with the method of“harmony”,following the pathogenesis,using the classic prescriptions flexibly,reducing wood and tonifying earth,and coordinating yin and yang,which is worthy of clinical reference.
