On the Image Creation of Historical Heroes in Jiaxuan's Ci

辛弃疾在其怀古词中成功地塑造了大禹、李广、孙权、刘裕、陶渊明等历史英杰形象,藉以表现他北伐中原救国拯民的抱负以及壮志难酬反被投闲置散的悲愤。辛词这方面的成就在宋代词坛无人可及。他巧妙运用多种多样的表现手法为人物传神写照,也给后人提供了在以写景抒情为主的诗词中叙事写人的宝贵艺术经验。

In his nostalgic poems,Xin Qiji successfully portrayed the images of historical heroes such as Dayu,Li Guang,Sun Quan,Liu Yu,Tao Yuanming,etc.in order to express his ambition to save the country and the people during the Northern Expedition in the Central Plains and his grief and indignation thrown into idleness because of his unrewarded aspirations.The achievements of Xin Ci are not comparable in the Song Ci.He skillfully used a variety of expression techniques to vividly portray the characters and he also provided the following generations with valuable artistic experience in narrating people in poems based on scenery and emotion.
