Only Searching and Browsing Are Not Enough

文章回顾OPAC系统、集成搜索系统、资源发现系统的发展历史和应用现状,以浏览与搜索为切入点比较3个系统的异同之处,强调仅有搜索和浏览是不够的,探索才是信息获取的突破方向。最后预测OPAC系统、集成搜索系统与发现系统的未来发展前景。

This paper makes a survey of the development history and application status of OPAC,integrated searching system and resource discovery system,and makes a comparison among their similarities and differences,focusing on their searching and browsing mechanisms.Based on such a review and comparison,it is found out that only searching and browsing are not enough,and exploration is the breakthrough directions of information access.Besides,it predicts the development prospects of OPAC,integrated searching system and discoverysystem.
