English Pragmatic Strategies in the Context of Cross-cultural Communication

经济全球化背景下,区域交互交往更为必要,技术的发展使得不同情境下的交互交流更为迅捷便利。首先是交通工具技术的发展使得世界不同国家和地区之间的交互交流主体面对面交流愈发简单。其次是信息技术革新,使得人类交流交互的形式发生重大变革,传统面对面交流正在更多地转变为互联网线上交流,这种交流不仅不受距离限制,且能够保证交互信息传输的即时性。然而以技术发展成就为基础的交流手段并未能有效解决所有交互交流中存在的问题,在跨文化交际中,仍存在一些由于区域文化背景差异而造成的语用失败问题。鉴于此,本文分析在跨文化交流中出现语用失误的原因,进而详细探讨了跨文化交流中的语用策略。

With the development of economic globalization,the interactive communication from various contexts becomes more necessary.Meanwhile,progress of technology makes that communication more convenient and efficient than before.Firstly,the progress of technology in transportation makes it easier to communicate face-to-face with people from different regions;secondly,the progress of information technology makes communicative means more available,traditional communication is being converted into the multi-dimensional communication by the internet gradually,which guarantee the instantaneous accessibility of interactive message beyond the restriction of space and distance.However,the mentioned means of communication based on technology are not expected to solve a variety of pragmatic problems caused by cultural differences which are inevitable to emerge in the process of fast growing interactive communication.The problem of pragmatic failure has been holding an important position in the study of inter-cultural communication and pragmatics.This article discusses the causes and effects of the pragmatic failure,thereby exploring the pragmatic strategy in inter-cultural communication.
