Tourism was one of the fastest growing sectors in Asia before the coronavirus disease(COVID-19)pandemic,with various factors driving strong growth.Sustained economic growth in the region gave an increasing part of populations the financial means to travel domestically and internationally.In addition,an increasingly liberalized air transport market saw low-cost carriers emerging to offer inexpensive flights,and visa requirements became more accommodating,easing travel still further.Regional communities,such as the Association of Southeast Asian Nations.
