Sectarian Conflict Writing and Socio-Spatial Production in Bhisham Sahni’s Tamas

本文以印地语长篇小说《黑暗》中的教派冲突书写为着眼点,借助列斐伏尔“社会空间”这一理论视角,阐述小说中教派主义与印度社会中宗教、政治、资本、种姓、性别等问题的联系与互动,探讨毗湿摩·萨赫尼笔下印度教派主义问题的本质,大致勾勒出教派主义从外部因素进入社会空间、最终成为社会关系中一部分的动态过程,以期为我们进一步认识和了解印度教派主义问题与其未来发展趋势提供一种路径。

This article focuses on the sectarian conflict in Bhishma Sahni’s Hindi novel Tamas.Drawing on Lefebvre’s notion of social space,it explains the connection and interaction between sectarianism and different groups in Indian society,thereby to explore the nature of sectarianism and analyze the process by which sectarianism enters social space from external factors and eventually becomes a part of social relations,hopefully providing a path for us to further understand the sectarian issues in India and their future trends.
