Indra Sinha’s Animal’s People is a representative work of contemporary Indian English literature.Based on Sindha’s historical memory and social responsibility, the author creates a diverse animal narrative through mixing fictional and realistic representations, revealing the intertwining of power between the human Other and the animal Other, unearthing the internal connection between speciesism and racism/ableism,and criticizing the anthropocentrism inherent within the human and animal binary.Global justice, disability rights and animal ethics all involve,in different ways, the discursive construction of ideology and moral philosophy. The animal issue is not only about the survival of species;it is also a social movement on public policy which reflects on the level of civilization of a nation and even all humanity.
