中国理工科大学生学术英语教学调查研究 被引量:12

A survey on academic English teaching for Chinese science and engineering majors in China

摘要 学术英语教学对我国"新工科"建设至关重要。本研究对全国30所理工类高校的6 825名学生和719名教师开展问卷调查,运用量化分析和质性分析相结合的方法,从学术英语认识、内涵、课程实施等方面探析中国理工科大学生学术英语教学现状。研究结果表明,师生能够区分理工科学术英语与通用英语,重视学术英语技能和知识学习。师生对多元化的学习途径、清晰的课程规划和合理的课程设计表达了较高需求。理工科学术英语教学也存在合适的教材缺少、英语教师与专业教师合作匮乏、高质量线上学习平台缺乏及评估压力过大等问题。研究能为我国理工科学术英语教学发展提供一定启示。 Academic English teaching is crucial to the construction of"New Engineering and Technical Disciplines"in China.This study conducts a questionnaire survey among 6825 students and 719 teachers in 30 universities of science and technology in China,and by a mixed method of quantitative and qualitative analysis,investigates the current status of academic English teaching of science and engineering majors from the perspectives of academic English awareness,essence of academic English and course instruction.The results show that teachers and students can distinguish between academic English for science and engineering and general English,and attach importance to learning of academic English skills and knowledge.Teachers and students have expressed high demands for diversified learning approaches,explicit curriculum planning and reasonable course design.The results also reveal problems such as lack of suitable teaching materials,lack of cooperation between English teachers and science and engineering teachers,lack of high-quality online learning platforms,and excessive evaluation pressure.The study provides certain implication for the development of academic English teaching for science and engineering majors in China.
