Scientific culture in Nature published film reviews and its enlightenment to scientific journals in China

摘要 【目的】基于Nature影评文章的分析,探讨我国科技期刊从科学研究成果发表到推进公众理解科学、提高公众科学素养的办刊新思路。【方法】采取内容分析法,运用Python工具对Nature影评文章的相关内容进行量化编码和可视化呈现。【结果】Nature的影评栏目所涉及的电影以科学题材为主导,兼有剧情类型片。影评文章主要是对电影内容的概述,并从科学文化角度对电影涉及的科学知识进行解读。影评的作者以拥有自然科学背景的学者为主,亦存在少数具有社科背景的学者。【结论】我国科技期刊可以借鉴Nature影评栏目的办刊方式,从宗旨更新、内容拓展、人才加持3个方面发展新思路,以拓展期刊的受众范围,加强期刊的科学传播效应。 [Purposes]Based on the analysis of film reviews in Nature,we explore new ideas for running Chinese scientific journals from three aspects:the publication of scientific research results,the promotion of public understanding of science,and the improvement of public scientific literacy.[Methods]We employed the content analysis method and Python programming to quantify,code,and visualize the semantic content of film reviews in Nature.[Findings]The films involved in these reviews are mainly scientific films,and some are feature films.The articles summarize the content of the films and try to interpret the scientific facts in the films from the scientific culture perspective.The authors of the film reviews are mainly scholars with backgrounds of natural sciences,and there are also a few scholars with backgrounds of social sciences.[Conclusions]The development of Chinese scientific journals can draw on film reviews in Nature from three aspects:purpose update,content expansion,and talent support,so as to improve public scientific literacy and enlarge the scientific communication influence of journals.
