A Comprehensive Survey and Study of the English Translation of Pre-Tang Chinese Folk Songs

厘清中国古代民歌的概念和发展阶段是中国先唐民歌英译研究的前提。中国先唐民歌英译始于20世纪,有选集著译本和民歌专译本两种形式。选集著译本的出版主要集中于20世纪,可分为纯英译型和研究型两类。民歌专译本的出版主要集中于21世纪,可分为2个发展阶段,1980—2000年为萌芽期,2001—2019年为发展期。先唐民歌在英语世界的译介有其发展脉络和译介特征,对其的梳理和剖析将为民歌英译研究者提供借鉴,为中国俗文学走出去提供良策。

To clarify the concepts of ancient Chinese folk songs and pre-Tang Chinese folk songs is the premise of studying English translation of pre-Tang Chinese folk songs which can be divided into anthological versions and monographic versions.The former,published mainly in the 20th century,can be further divided into the types of pure translation and research-based translation.The latter,published mainly in the 21st century,can be divided into two development periods:the germination period from 1980 to 2000 and the development period from 2001 to 2019.In-depth study of English translation of pre-Tang folk songs can make us clearly understand the vein of the study and absorption of pre-Tang Chinese folk songs by foreign scholars and explore the similarities and differences of Chinese and western folk songs,to provide reference for Chinese folk literature to go global.
