An Analysis of the Correspondence between Color Words and Location in Yi Language

彝语颜色词构成方式多样,内涵丰富,独特的色彩体系和方位系统的对应是彝族文化的重要表征。在彝族先民的传统认知中,东、南、西、北四个方位往往依次对应青/绿、红、白、黑四种色彩,这体现了彝族先民朴素的自然观以及有序的空间观。

Yi language color words are formed in various ways and rich in connotation.The distinctive color system and the correspondence of the orientation system are important characteristics of Yi culture.In the traditional cognition of the ancestors of the Yi people,the four directions of east,south,west,and north often correspond to the four colors of blue/green,red,white,and black in sequence.This reflects the simple natural view and orderly space view of Yi people.
