“任性”的词汇化探究

Lexicalization of“RenXing”

形容词“任性”由“任”和“性”所组成的动宾短语演变而来。汉唐时期,“任性”开始连用,明朝时期开始出现词汇化倾向,直到清代最终词汇化为形容词。在现代汉语中,“任性”词义更加泛化,多带有调侃或宣扬意味。“任性”的发展过程中,频繁使用和重新分析等动因和机制发挥了重要作用。

The adjective“RenXing”evolved from the verb object phrase composed o“f Ren”and“Xing”.In the Han and Tang Dynasties“,RenXing”began to be used together,and in the Ming Dynasty,it began to be lexi⁃calized,until the Qing Dynasty finally lexicalized into an adjective.In modern Chinese,the meaning o“f RenX⁃ing”is more generalized,with a tongue-in-cheek and propagandistic quality.Frequent use and reanalysis play an important role in the process of changing its meaning.
