By comparing three neighboring villas in Boulogne Woods designed by Mallet-Stevens, Le Corbusier and Raymond Fischer in the 1920s, the article analyzes the different ideas and techniques applied by the three architects who belong to the "Ecole de Paris". It reveals the subtle differences in the lifestyles of the owners, as well as the distinct understandings of space and structure by different architects. Therefore, it presents a creative feature of the works of the Paris School, which is "harmonious but different". Finally, it focuses on the analysis of the reason why Le Corbusier stood out from his pears of the Paris School, that is, the open system led to sustainable development in his architecture.
