张之洞与交城县成村裁革苇席陋规碑记

ZHANG ZHIDONG AND INSCRIPTIONS ON THE BAD RULES OF CUTTING REED MATS IN CHENGCUN JIAOCHENG COUNTY

晚清名臣张之洞治晋两年多,以巡抚身份治晋是他离京外任的第一站。下车伊始,他整饬官场腐败,严禁鸦片毒害。他拿种鸦片多、杂派负担重的太原府交城县为典型,雷厉风行,取得了显著成效,交城县成村百姓为他树碑立传,歌功颂德。

Zhang Zhidong,a famous official of the late Qing Dynasty,ruled Jin for more than two years,which was his first stop outside Beijing.At the beginning of getting off the bus,he cleaned up official corruption and prohibited opium poisoning.He took Taiyuan Fu Jiao Cheng County,which had many varieties of opium and heavy burden of miscellaneous factions,as a model,and made vigorous and resolute efforts,which achieved remarkable results.The people in Jiaocheng County built monuments for him and wrote praises for his virtues.
