1606年是壬辰战后朝鲜与日本围绕重建国交谈判的关键一年,1607年初朝鲜最终做出了遣使赴日、重建两国国交的决定。《银台日记》作为现存罕见的宣祖时代的《承政院日记》,生动展示了该年朝鲜朝廷的论争细节与决策过程,在补足《朝鲜王朝实录》方面,其价值弥足珍贵。朝鲜的讨论与决策过程亦显示此时备边司的权力虽已逐渐凌驾于之前时期的议政府之上,但在遣使赴日这一重大问题的决策上,仍需要更多重臣的支持。

1606 was a crucial year in which Joseon negotiated the reestablishment of diplomatic relation with Japan after the Imjin War.Joseon eventually Dispatched Envoy and rebuild its diplomatic relation with Japan in early 1607.Eundae Ilgi,as a rare source from Sungjo's reign,vividly revealed the details of debate and the decision-making process in Joseon.It is particularly valuable in supplementing Veritable Records of Joseon.The discussion and decision-making process showed that although the power of the Border Defencse Council had gradually overshadowed the Uijeongbu,it still needed more support from the pivotal officials on this major issue of dispatching envoy to Japan.
