Establishment and Talent Cultivation of Tianjin Navy School

1870年代,清朝海关局势日益危迫,对此,李鸿章在天津筹办水师学堂,以备海军之需要。值得注意的是,水师学堂地处天津,却更注重东南地区的生源。作为海军切要之图,天津水师学堂安排了数十门课程和严格的考核制度。此外,天津水师学堂为北洋舰队提供了后援力量,同时也促进了其他地方海军教育的开展。

In 1870’s,the situation of the Qing Dynasty’s customs became more and more dangerous.In this situation,Li Hongzhang organized a naval academy in Tianjin to meet the needs of the navy.It is worth noting that the school was located in Tianjin,but paid more attention to the source of students in southeast China.As an important preparedness of the navy,Tianjin Navy Academy arranged dozens of courses and strict examination system.In addition,Tianjin Naval Academy provided powerful force for Beiyang Fleet and promoted the development of naval education in other places.
