Ethnic interaction and social development of Minyao in the Ming and Qing Dynasties

从四大民瑶镇守楚南隘口开始,无论是卫所军屯设撤、田产买卖限制,还是瑶目瑶长制的常规化,莫不体现出国家治理手段下民瑶的生存状态及其与周边族群的关系模式。瑶、军、汉的体制分野,使民瑶在历史建构过程中,常与其他族群产生纠纷。通过国家政策的宏观控制以及府县的直接管理,清溪瑶、古调瑶、扶灵瑶、勾蓝瑶在与所军、汉民等官方组织和文化代表的交往过程中,逐步融合成为四大民瑶,形成了典型的多元一体的民族格局。

From the beginning of four Minyao towns guarding the jaws of Chunan Pass,whether it might be the set-up and withdrawal of the troops,or the restrictions on the sale of land property,or the normalization of the system of Yaomu’s leadership,all of them revealed the relationship between Minyao and the surrounding ethnic groups under the national governance.The division of the system into three parts Yao,Jun and Han often made Minyao into disputes with other ethnic groups in the process of historical construction.Through the macro control of national policies and the direct management of government and county,Qingyi Yao,Gudiao Yao,Fuling Yao and GouLan Yao have gradually integrated into the four ethnic groups,forming a typical and multi-integrated ethnic pattern in the process of communication with the official organizations and cultural representatives such as Sujun and Han people.
