The Rise and Development of Health Education in Modem China

近代以来,在内忧外患的背景下,随着中西文化的相互交融,以养生为基本内涵的中国传统卫生观念开始发生改变,逐渐被赋予了文明、现代性的意涵。为增强国民身体素质,使国家摆脱内外交困命运,中国各地开展了形式多样的卫生教育活动,其中尤以上海为代表。可以说,这一过程反映了近代中国社会文化变迁的复杂性。

Since modem times,against the background of internal and external troubles,with the integration of Chinese and western cultures,the traditional Chinese concept of health preservation as the basic connotation began to change,and was gradually endowed with the meaning of civilization and modernity.In order to enhance the physical fitness of the people and free the country from internal and external difficulties,various health education activities had been carried out all over China,especially in Shanghai.It can be said that this process reflected the complexity of social and cultural changes in modem China.
