The Reflection on the Disruptive Innovation from the Case of Airbnb

克里斯坦森(1997)提出覆性创新理论后,其较为严格的标准受到众多学者质疑。从Airbnb作为颠覆者进入酒店行业的案例来看,颠覆性创新技术并不必然带来颠覆性创新,企业在持续性创新和破坏性创新之间的选择取决于企业如何定位颠覆性技术在其商业模式中的角色;颠覆性创新和持续性创新在商业生态系统中是可以共存的。

After Christensen(1997)proposed the disruptive innovation theory,the strict definition has since been questioned by many scholars.From the case of Airbnb entering the hospitality industry as a disrupter,disruptive technology does not necessarily lead to disruptive innovation.The choice between sustainable innovation and disruptive innovation depends on how an enterprise positions the role of disruptive technology in its business model.Disruptive innovation and sustainable innovation can coexist in a business ecosystem.
